Barrow CC are delighted to announce the signing of overseas player, Zac Aldridge, for 2024! The New Zealander will link up with Barrow in April, off the back of his Kiwi summer.

Another fast-bowling all-rounder, Zac is our second signing of the winter, following Martin Green, as Captain Jack Randle’s new look bowling attack begins to take shape. Despite his young age, Zac will bring a wealth of experience to Barrow, having played Premier League Cricket for Lancaster Park CC in Christchurch and Parnell CC in Auckland, taking the field with Blackcaps including Lockie Ferguson, Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra.

Zac is excited ahead of his English summer and took the time to introduce himself to the membership and share his thoughts ahead of the coming season:

“Hey there, I’m Zac, I’m 24 years old and played a lot of cricket around New Zealand and super excited to experience my first English cricketing summer.

I have a bunch of goals both on and off the field and would love to be an integral part of Barrow Cricket Club being promoted. Joining a new club in new conditions presents a new challenge that is a super exciting prospect in itself! But being able to contribute on the field with bat, ball and in the field is something I’m really striving for.

Off the field, it will be my first time in the Northern Hemisphere – I’ve heard some awesome stories from people doing cricketing summers and that’s something I’d be very keen to replicate. From talking to Gareth and Googling Chester, it sounds like an awesome place so I want to immerse myself into both the club and English culture and experience and learn as much as possible.”

We know Zac will feel right at home at The Croft and we can’t wait to welcome him to the UK and to Barrow Cricket Club in April!
